Breaking: Egypt's government spokesman resigns

Egypt's government spokesman, Alaa al-Hadidi, submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Hisham Kandil late on Monday, reported the state news agency.
The cabinet convened a meeting earlier on Tuesday that the defense minister did not attend.
