CAIRO, Feb 9 (Aswat Masriya) An Egyptian prosecutor ordered on Sunday that 38 Muslim Brotherhood supporters be referred to criminal court for attempting to bomb a metro station in Shubra al-Khema during the October 6 celebrations last year.

The suspects are accused of belonging to a “terrorist organization” whose purpose is to use violence against state institutions, vandalize public property, terrorize citizens, disturb traffic and carry unlicensed arms with the purpose of threatening national security and public order and resisting the authorities.

Egypt declared the Brotherhood a “terrorist organization” in December last year following tens of demonstrations that often escalated to confrontations with opponents or security forces.

Investigations revealed that some of the suspects are from governorates other than Cairo and that they came to Shubra al-Khema to cause chaos.

The authorities said that 49 handmade grenades were found with the suspects as well as Molotov cocktails.
