Egypt’s general prosecutor ordered on Wednesday the arrest of 22 members of a group that goes by the name “Black Bloc” on charges of establishing the movement with the purpose of committing terrorist and criminal acts.

Prosecution spokesman, Mahmoud al-Hefnawy, said that the decision was made upon investigation reports from the state security apparatus.

Hefnawy added to the state news agency that a travel ban was imposed on the 22 members who were put on a no-fly list.

He added that the investigations of the national security apparatus – formerly known as State Security – had revealed that the accused have received funds to commit crimes, attack personal freedoms and disrupt public peace.
