CAIRO, Feb 21 (Aswat Masriya) - The Dostour Party, the largest liberal party in Egypt, will elect a new president on Friday to succeed Sayed el-Masry.

Masry, Dostour’s former president, headed the party after party founder Mohamed ElBaradei resigned from the post.

Several prominent figures in the party such as Vice President Gameela Ismail, Secretary of Education Hala Shokrallah, and former Secretary General Hossam Abdel Ghaffar are competing for the party's presidency.

The Dostour Party was established in 2012 by ElBaradei, who said that the party's goal is to retrieve the revolution's objectives and transfer power to the youth who sparked the 2011 revolution.
