The National Salvation Front at a press conference - Ahmed Hamed/Aswat Masriya
The National Salvation Front, Egypt’s main opposition alliance, condemned on Monday the attack on the Muslim Brotherhood's main headquarters in Mokattam, which left eight people dead and the building destroyed.
Raged protesters stormed the main headquarters of Egypt's ruling Islamist group earlier on Monday, following a night of clashes between opponents and supporters of the Brotherhood.
The opposition alliance also condemned President Mohamed Mursi, holding him fully responsible for the acts of violence that took place across the country on Sunday.
The statement demanded that the authorities reveal the identity of those responsible for inciting violence and immediately hold them accountable.
On the other hand, the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party accused the Salvation Front of providing "political cover" for acts of violence.
