CAIRO, Sept 19 (Aswat Masriya) - Unidentified assailants fired Thursday two mortar shells at a Central Security Forces camp located on Arish airport road, security sources said.

The fired shells fell outside the parameters of the camp, leaving no casualties behind, the sources told Aswat Masriya.

Security forces are currently combing the area to catch the perpetrators.

An attempt to detonate an explosive device planted on the route taken by security forces in Sadat area at Rafah entrance was also foiled, MENA agency quoted security sources, adding that the device was defused safely.

Egypt's security forces have intensified their security measures in North Sinai in reaction to repeated militant attacks that target army and police officials, which rose significantly since the military ouster of former President Mohamed Mursi last year.
