Clashes broke out on Sunday evening between members of the Muslim Brotherhood and protesters from the opposition, leaving four people injured in Kafr al-Sheikh.
Around 50 opponents to the Muslim Brotherhood attacked a hall where the Islamist group was holding a Labor Day celebration, besieging its members.
The assailants smashed the hall's door and hurled stones at the Brotherhood members, who threw stones back and managed to escape.
The protesters chanted against the Islamist group and the Kafr al-Sheikh governor Saad al-Husseini who is a leading figure in the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party.
A number of protesters have been demanding the dismissal of Husseini since January. Many clashes have occurred over the last year in the Nile Delta city.
