Mohamed Abu Taleb, Beni Soueif's security director told the state news agency MENA early Saturday that the crash left 11 conscripts and two civilians killed.

Meanwhile Beni Soueif's investigations chief Khalaf Hussein later told Aswat Masriya that the death toll reached 16, including 13 police conscripts and three civilians. He added that four more conscripts were injured.
