Despite their absence from the 2014 World Cup, Egypt remain 36 in the FIFA global football rankings for July.

The World Cup that took place in Brazil from 12 June until 13 July witnessed the exit of more top flight teams from the group stage like former title holder Spain, Italy and England.

Egypt will start their official campaign when they play their 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers that begin in July.

Under the helm of American coach Bob Bradley, Egypt failed to make it to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Pharaohs rank fourth among African countries, after Algeria, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

Egypt made it into the world top 10 after winning three successive African Cup of Nations trophies, in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Germany have climbed to the top of the FIFA rankings after winning the World Cup for the first time in 24 years, ahead of Argentina, Netherlands, Colombia and Belgium.
