CAIRO, Aug 13 (Aswat Masriya) - The Egyptian cabinet approved a draft law to combat crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression, on Wednesday.

The law was approved following the amendment of article 33, which deals with perpetrators of the above-mentioned crimes. The amendment aims to "ensure speedy trials" by assigning one or more criminal courts to look into these crimes.

In cases of military jurisdiction, the ammended article stipulates the assignment of one or more military criminal courts to look into these offences in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Code of Military Justice.
