CAIRO, Sept 28 (Aswat Masriya) – The Cairo Criminal Court will issue its verdict over the graft charges leveled against three Mubarak-era officials on December 29, the court announced on Sunday.

Former prime minister Ahmed Nazif, former interior minister Habib al-Adli and former finance minister Youssef Boutrous-Ghali are facing the charge of wasting 92 million Egyptian pounds of public funds through irregularly procuring vehicle license plates. The three officials were part of toppled President Hosni Mubarak's last government before the outbreak of protests which led to his removal from power in early 2011.

A primary court had sentenced Nazif to a suspended year, Adli to five years and Ghali to ten years in absentia before the Court of Cassation cancelled the sentences and ordered their retrial in February 2013.
