Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi - Reuters
In an exclusive interview with the Guardian ahead of mass anti-regime demonstrations, Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi insisted there will be “no second revolution”.
The Egyptian president rejected calls for early elections and warned that his early removal would only lead to chaos.
"If we changed someone in office who [was elected] according to constitutional legitimacy – well, there will be people or opponents opposing the new president too, and a week or a month later, they will ask him to step down," Mursi told the Guardian.
He assured the Guardian that he is confident that he will remain in power and that the army will not step in.
