CAIRO, June 15 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's prosecutor-general Hisham Barakat ordered that a doctor and his assistant be detained on Sunday for negligence that led to the death of a 26-year-old woman.
Investigations have revealed that Heba al-Ayouty had gone to a medical center for x-rays when she was injected with a "strange substance" that eventually led to her death.
Before she died, Ayouty had been transferred to the emergency room for a gangrene that later damaged her abdomen, investigations revealed, adding that she died in Germany where her mother had taken her for treatment.
Ayouty was reported dead a month after she was injected at the medical center.
The prosecutor asked for investigations into the case to continue and take into consideration a report that was released by the Health Ministry.
Health Minister Adel Adawy had sent the case to the prosecutor-general's office and ordered for the center to be shut down until investigations are finished.
