CAIRO, Jun 19 (Aswat Masriya) - A 23-year-old student was killed on Friday in clashes between security forces and alleged supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sharqiya governorate, a security official said.

Tens of Brotherhood supporters organised a rally and chanted against state institutions, Sharqiya Security Director Atef Mahran told Aswat Masriya.

Police forces dispersed the rally and arrested one of the protesters, Mahran added.

The student, who was a passer-by, was shot by anonymous assailants, according to Mahran.

The banned Muslim Brotherhood has called on its supporters to protest against the death sentence handed to ousted President Mohamed Mursi on Tuesday for accusations of escaping from the Wadi al-Natroun prison.
