CAIRO, Jan 25 (Aswat Masriya) - Two "terrorists" were killed in Beheira when an explosive device they were planting below an electric pylon exploded, the ministry of interior said.

Explosives experts examined the area near the explosion; they found another explosive device which they dismantled, the ministry added in a statement.

Sunday marks the fourth anniversary of the January 2011 uprising which toppled the regime of former President Hosni Mubarak.

In anticipation of protests commemorating the anniversary, security measures across Cairo have been heightened, specifically around major squares. Army forces maintained their shutdown of Tahrir Square for the second day in a row on Sunday.

Tahrir square, located in Downtown Cairo, is considered one of the symbols of the uprising.

Military vehicles have been situated at the entrances of the square and on roads leading to it, MENA reported.

Earlier on Sunday, two policemen were wounded when an explosive device went off outside a sports club in cairo.
