Demonstrators supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and deposed president Mohamed Mursi marched across Cairo as well as several cities after Friday's noon prayer.

In Cairo, thousands staged a march from the Nour Mosque in Abbasiya to the Islamists sit-in at Rabaa al-Adaweya.

Mursi supporters also headed from Mostafa Mahmoud Mosque in Mohandessin to the Rabaa sit-in.

In Alexandria, the Brotherhood supporters' protests caused traffic jams on the Corniche, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

Hundreds of Mursi supporters staged a march from al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque in Alexandria, MENA added.

They chanted against the media and carried banners which said that all media people will be hanged after Mursi returns to power.
