CAIRO, May 18 (Aswat Masriya) At least four people were wounded in a bomb explosion in a Cairo conference set up to support presidential contender Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at Ezbat al-Nakhl district on Saturday night, security sources said.

Two policemen and two civilians suffered mild injuries due to the explosion that was caused by an improvised explosive device, reported the state news agency.

The blast came 10 days before Egypt's presidential elections, which will take place on May 26 and 27 and Former army chief Sisi is highly expected to win.

Egypt saw a surge in violence following the army's ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood's President Mohamed Mursi that was prompted by mass protests against his rule in July 2013.
