The total number of those who were injured in a bomb targeting the interior minister on Thursday is 19, a high-ranking security source told the state news agency.

The injured include ten police officers and ten civilians, including one British woman, but the interior minister was unharmed in the attack.

One of the police officers is in critical condition while one child lost his leg in the attack, the interior ministry said.

Egypt’s interior minister said that the attack “is not the end, but the beginning” of a wave of terrorism, Reuters reported.
