CAIRO, March 6 (Aswat Masriya) Tens of French activists continued their sit-in at Cairo Airport on Thursday in protest against the banning of 15 of them to enter Gaza through the Rafah border, the state news agency said.

Only six out of the 58 activists, who are mainly of Algerian decent, have left the airport.

The French Consul in Egypt failed to persuade the activists to depart the airport and return to France or look for another alternative to enter Gaza in light of the Rafah border being closed, a source told Aswat Masriya.

The activists were headed to Gaza to show solidarity for Palestinian women when they were stopped by the authorities.
