Al-Gamaa al-Islamiya, an Islamist movement based in Egypt, has said that civil groups are trying to destroy the nation and are wrong to think that demonstrations scheduled for the end of this month will bring about "another revolution".

The legal expert of the movement's Building and Development Party, Adel Moawad, accused the National Salvation Front, Egypt's main opposition alliance, and other civil groups of "trying to destroy the nation, undermining its potential and purposefully attempting to topple the state disguised by calls to remove the Muslim Brotherhood regime."

He added that these forces lack political experience that would qualify them to assume political positions.

June 30 is the day set by "Tamarod" (Rebel), a campaign whose aim is to collect anti-regime petitions, to stage anti-regime demonstrations, as it marks one year since Islamist President Mohamed Mursi became Egypt’s president.

Many secular and opposition groups, including the NSF (which groups Mohamed ElBaradei, Amr Moussa and Hamdeen Sabahi), have announced their support for the campaign and their intention to join the scheduled demonstrations.
