Cairo, Nov 22 (Aswat Masriya) - Small-scale clashes broke out on Friday between residents of Alexandria and Suez and marching demonstrators who support deposed President Mohamed Mursi.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy, which backs former President Mohamed Mursi, has urged Egyptians to take part in week-long demonstrations held under the title "Rabaa... Massacre of the Century" starting Friday 22 November.

In Alexandria's Asafra, the area residents and supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood hurled stones and empty bottles at each other. 

Gunshots were heard in the area shortly after the Brotherhood allies set out on marches in the area while chanting slogans against the Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry.

Security forces intervened to break up the clashes.

On the other hand, scores marched from al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque following Friday noon prayers to express their support for him and urge him to nominate himself for presidency.

In Suez, clashes erupted between opponents and supporters of the ousted president in Faisal neighbourhood during a pro-Brotherhood march after the latter chanted against the army, the police and army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The two sides hurled stones, broken glass, and fireworks at each other. Gunshots were heard as well.

Last Friday, a boy was killed in Alexandria clashes. His father accused the Muslim Brotherhood of shooting him dead.
