CAIRO, March 30 (Aswat Masriya) A student died on Sunday night while receiving medical treatment at the university hospital after being shot during clashes that erupted earlier outside the university's dorm, Azhar University said.

Another student was killed outside the university campus during clashes between security forces and students supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

The police fired teargas to disperse protesting students who shouted slogans against the police and army, carrying banners saying "down with military rule," and demanded the release of their detained classmates.

Azhar University demanded an immediate investigation to determine the cause of death for the two students.

A state of calm now prevails at the university dorms and campus.
