Egypt's Minister of Culture Alaa Abdel Aziz said on Wednesday that he would refer all possible incidents of corruption within the ministry to the monitoring authorities for investigation.

The newly-appointed minister said in a press statement that the revolution broke out to end corruption and nepotism, adding that all rights will be restored to the Egyptian people.

A number of Egyptian artists on Tuesday marched to the Ministry of Culture, demanding the dismissal of Abdel Aziz, who is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and protesting attempts to "brotherhoodise" the ministry.
