Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh’s campaign called on the Presidential Elections Committee to halt the announcing of the final results as documented violations invalidate the entire process, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.
The unofficial results circulated through different media outlets indicate that Aboul Fotouh has been removed from the race, while Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Mursi and former Mubarak-man Ahmed Shafiq are competing in the second round scheduled for mid-June.
Media coordinator of Aboul Fotouh’s campaign Ali El-Bahnasawy said that their call is a result of violations detected and proven through official documents – that make the election invalid.
Bahnasawy listed down the reasons:
1- Registering deceased citizens as voters.
2- Disallowing representatives from being present as sorting votes took place.
3- Starting the sorting process earlier than scheduled.
4- Absence of some judges as polling took place.
5- Mistakes in the databases of voters.
6- Staff telling voters what candidates to choose.
7- Staff filling out voting cards and inserting them into ballot boxes.
8- Failing to properly identify certain voters.
9- Failing to document spare voting cards.
10- Voters signing in two different voter records.
11- Voting without the right to vote, conscripts, etc.
12- Buying votes.
