NORTH SINAI, Aug 25 (Aswat Masriya) - At least 14 "terrorists" were killed in North Sinai on Monday and Tuesday in an extensive security campaign targeting their hideouts, the armed forces spokesman said on his official page.

"They were killed in a fire exchange with the armed forces," the spokesman statement said, adding that they arrested "an extremely dangerous terrorist called Souwailem Mohamed Salem."

The armed forces also arrested four wanted people in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah.

The Egyptian security forces are currently waging an extensive security campaign in Sinai to counter militants’ attacks targeting the army and police, which have risen sharply since the ouster of President Mohamed Mursi last year.
