The Arab group at the United Nations (UN) has sent letters to the Secretary-General of the UN and the Security Council's President, urging their condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Syria and demanding that the Security Council act to stop these attacks and prevent them from recurring.
The letters, prepared by Egypt’s permanent delegation to the UN, specifically decried Israel’s attacks and warned of their hazardous repercussions, reported the state news agency.
The Arab group called on the international organization to act immediately for the prevention of what they deemed “a dangerous violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state that puts the entire region’s security and stability at risk and complicates the situation at war-torn Syria.”
The letters stressed that Israel’s "aggressions" test the commitment of the international community, primarily the United Nations, to the rules of international law.
In addition, the letters denounced Israel’s constant violation of Lebanese airspace and sovereignty, despite all the international and Security Council resolutions issued on the matter, on top of which those of the Security Council.
The group called on the Security Council to oblige Israel to put an end to its violations.
