CAIRO, June 24 (Reuters) - Egypt's strategic stocks of domestic and imported wheat are sufficient to last for six months, the Supplies Ministry told Reuters on Tuesday.
The world's top wheat importer last week finished purchasing domestic wheat from this year's harvest.
Mahmoud Diab said that the government had purchased 3.7 million tonnes of the local crop, short of a target set earlier this year by the government but near the revised aim of 3.8-3.9 million announced this month. (Reporting by Ehab Farouk; Writing by Maggie Fick; editing by Jason Neely)
