CAIRO, Nov 24 (Aswat Masriya) – Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is scheduled to arrive in the Italian capital of Rome on Monday, as part of his Europe tour to strengthen economic ties and cooperation.

The Egyptian president is set to meet with his Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano, the reigning pope of the Catholic Church Pope Francis, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the speaker of the senate.

Meetings will address bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, investment and tourism, as well as Italy's role in strengthening Egypt's relations with Europe.

Italy is the fifth largest European investor in Egypt, with investments worth of 2.6 billion dollars. Most investments are in the fields of transport, banking, car components and construction.

Sisi is scheduled to remain in Rome for two days. He will then fly to the French capital to discuss bilateral relations as well as the conflict in Libya.

This is Sisi's first visit to Europe since his inauguration as president last June. He has visited the United States in September, where he represented Egypt at the United Nations General Assembly's 69th session.
