CAIRO, Aug 22 (Aswat Masriya) - Ministers of water resources of Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan will resume on Monday tripartite talks over Ethiopia's Renaissance dam after an eight-months hiatus.

The negotiations will be held in the Sudanese capital, reported the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held talks with Ethiopia's prime minister in Malabo on bilateral relations and the Ethiopia dam issue in June.

Egyptian foreign minister and his Ethiopian counterpart jointly said at a press conference in Malabo that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the Ethiopian Prime Minister confirmed their countries' commitment to cooperation and mutual respect

Egyptian-Ethiopian relations have been strained after Ethiopia announced in May 2013 that it will divert the Blue Nile's course to build a dam generating hydro-electric energy.

The Ethiopian dam issue has raised Egypt and Sudan's fears as the dam may affect Egypt's share of the Nile water and decrease the energy generated by the High Dam.
