CAIRO, Sept 18 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed with head of Saudi intelligence Prince Khaled bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz the situation in Iraq, Syria, and Libya at the forefront of regional developments at the presidential headquarters on Thursday.

Prince Abdulaziz delivered a message from King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who praised Egypt's "historic" stand with its Arab and Islamic "brothers", and its "noble" counter-terrorism and extremism stance, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.

King Abdulaziz has expressed his wish to restore al-Azhar Mosque in a way that suits its status as a prestigious scientific and religious institution, the statement added.

Sisi voiced his "deep" appreciation for this initiative, emphasising that Egypt will not forget the "honourable" stands of its "brothers".
