Police forces arrested eight supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and of ousted President Mohamed Mursi in New Damietta on charges of rioting and inciting violence on Friday.

A group of demonstrators marched from the Islamic Centre in New Damietta as part of the protests which the pro-Mursi National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy called for.

The eight demonstrators who were arrested were part of the march and were chanting hostile slogans against the police and the Armed Forces.

The prosecution charged the arrested demonstrators with belonging to a banned group.
