Army and police forces continued on Friday to seal off Cairo's Tahrir, Abdel Moneim Riad, and Mostafa Mahmoud squares as well as the streets leading to them.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy, which supports former President Mohamed Mursi and the Muslim Brotherhood, had called for rallying on what it called "Friday of Accountability".

Army forces sealed off Giza's Nahda Square to both traffic and pedestrians and intensified their security measures.

In Suez, security forces intensified their presence around the Arba'een Police Station to secure the Arba'een Square before planned demonstrations.

On Thursday, Suez mourned Hadi Bassam, a 19-year old who died of injuries he sustained on October 6 during clashes between supporters and opponents of former President Mohamed Mursi.
