The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) criticized what it called Ahmed Shafiq’s “black propaganda” and fabrication of lies about the brotherhood to distort their image and mislead public opinion. Shafiq aims at dissuading people from voting for the brotherhood’s candidate Mursi or at least persuade them to boycott the second round of the election, the brotherhood said.

According to Ikhwan online, Shafiq’s methods denote someone who has nothing to offer and has no respect for values and morals.

The brotherhood denounced Shafiq’s claim that “it was responsible for killing protesters at the Battle of Camel during the revolution”.

The people know that leaders of the disbanded National Democratic Party are the ones who incited thugs to barge into Tahrir square with camels and horse and kill protesters.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Shafiq is a figure of the dissolved party and was prime minister at the time of that massacre, the brotherhood stated. He did not take any action to prevent it or stop it, it added.
