Unknown assailants opened fire at a central security forces camp in Rafah's al-Ahrash on Monday morning but there were no casualties, a security source said.

The attackers shot at the camp's main gate, prompting armed security officers to fire back at them, the source added.

This camp has been attacked five times since the 2011 uprising and was reinforced with army soldiers.

State leaders are exerting all efforts to release seven army soldiers in Sinai that were kidnapped five days ago.
