Mohamed Saad Al-Katatni, The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party’s MP was voted president of the post-Mubarak People’s Assembly.

Al-Katatni recieved 399 votes whereas his opponents, Essam Sultan and Youssef Al-Badry received 87 and 10 votes.

Mahmoud Al-Saqa who headed today’s session announced the news of Al-Katatni’s winning, adding that the total number of votes counted to 503 with 7 invalid votes.

Mohamed Mosri, head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, said that al-Katatni’s request to quit his job as Secretary General of the party in case he is elected as speaker of parliament.
