CAIRO, Dec 23 (Aswat Masriya) Police forces and a number of civilians teamed up to disperse a protest organized by students sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood at Ain Shams University on Monday, the state news agency said.

The students set up metal barriers in Khalifa al-Maamoun Street to prevent the police from entering the area but anti-Brotherhood civilians gathered and threw rocks at them.

The protesters blocked the road and disturbed traffic from both sides before security forces dispersed them and arrested some of them.

A number of protesters and students who support the army also staged an opposing demonstration in the area.
