CAIRO, Sept 28 (Aswat Masriya) – An Egyptian misdemeanour court acquitted on Sunday 112 defendants implicated in violence which occurred during the third anniversary of the January 25 uprising in Cairo's al-Moski neighbourhood.

The defendants, believed to be supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood organisation, had appealed an earlier court verdict sentencing them to a year's hard labour.

They were charged with violating last year's protest law, rioting, inciting violence, blocking roads, vandalising public and private property and attacking policemen.

Nationwide clashes broke out between security forces and protesters during the uprising's third anniversary earlier this year, leaving over 40 killed. Protesters included Muslim Brotherhood supporters and anti-army activists.
