CAIRO, Oct 16 (Aswat Masriya) - Eleven people were injured Thursday evening in stampede after three sound bombs detonated in the vicinity of al-Sayed al-Badawy Mosque in Tanta, Mohamed Sharshar, the health ministry's undersecretary in Gharbiya governorate said.

Three sound bombs went off in front of the mosque's rear gates as the closing celebrations for the Sufi festival kicked off in Gharbiya.

All injuries were minor, Sharshar told Aswat Masriya, adding that the injured have been transported to Tanta University hospital and al-Menshawy hospital. No deaths have been reported so far, he said.

Investigations are currently being held at the National Security headquarters in Tanta, after three persons suspected to have planted the bombs were arrested, a security source who preferred to remain anonymous told Aswat Masriya.
