CAIRO, Dec 1 (Aswat Masriya) Egyptian authorities used water cannons and teargas to disperse a protest held by the Muslim Brotherhood’s “7am” movement in Heliopolis on Sunday and arrested 11 protesters, the interior ministry said.

The “7 am” movement was formed to back deposed President Mohamed Mursi whom supporters describe as the country’s legitimate ruler.

Twenty-one young women who belong to the movement were sentenced to 11 years in prison last week for holding a demonstration in Alexandria to support Mursi on the day of his trial.

Egypt’s army ousted Mursi in response to mass demonstrations across the country in July.
