CAIRO, April 22 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's Presidential Election Committee (PEC) will begin to receive requests to overturn candidates on Tuesday, announced the committee.

The committee will continue to receive requests until Wednesday. The final list of accepted candidates will be announced on May 2.

The doors for registration to run for presidency closed on Sunday after the PEC announced that only former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and leftist politician Hamdeen Sabahi will be running the race.

Egypt will vote for a new president on May 26 and 27. The result of the first round will be announced no later than June 5.

If there was no winner in the first round, the second round will be held on June 16 and 17 and the winner will be announced on June 26.
