CAIRO, Jan 28 (Aswat Masriya) The National Council for Human Rights filed a complaint to General Prosecutor Hisham Bakarat on Monday, urging him to put an end to the airing of voice recordings and phone calls on “al-Qahera wa al-Nas” and “Tahrir” satellite channels.

The report urged a quick investigation into the leaks and the exposure of them to the public, explaining that such action violates these activists’ personal lives without judicial orders or permits in accordance with the constitution and law.

It also urged the prosecutor to bring those responsible to justice.

Television shows had aired phone calls made by activists, who are known for roles they played in the January 25 uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak, in a campaign described by political analysts as a way to tarnish the image of the uprising and those who participated in it.

The statement added that these recordings violated Article 75 of the new constitution which forbids the eavesdropping on phone conversations without judicial permit or under the umbrella of the law.
