CAIRO, Oct 3 (Aswat Masriya) – United States Secretary of State John Kerry told Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi that the Apaches the U.S. has long promised to provide Egypt with will be delivered in November, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said. 

Kerry met with Sisi on Monday during the former's visit to Cairo to attend the Gaza reconstruction conference, held to raise funds for the strip's reconstruction after the latest Gaza war last summer.

The U.S. secretary of state added to Sisi that a delegation of American investors is scheduled to visit Egypt in November to explore investment opportunities in the Middle Eastern country. 

Kerry also met with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri on Sunday, he said in a statement released by the department of state. He stressed the U.S.'s support for Egypt "as it undertakes significant reforms and works towards economic transformation for all Egyptians." 

The secretary of state said that the American multinational conglomerate General Electric can possibly bring to Egypt "emergency and immediate" power to help it build the power grid. Kerry added that the company's CEO is prepared to work with the current Egyptian government to "try to help make this kind of difference."

Egypt is facing its worst energy energy crisis in years, with power outages occurring with unprecedented frequency last summer. 

The Gaza reconstruction conference, co-hosted by Egypt and Norway, was held on Sunday in the attendance of numerous foreign ministers, country delegations, and representatives of regional and international institutions, such as the United Nations. It succeeded in collecting more than $5 billion worth of donations for the Gaza Strip.

During his meeting with Sisi, Kerry stressed the importance of political development to enhance the efforts of reconstructing Gaza, Youssef said in a statement released by the presidency. 

Sisi meanwhile asserted that reaching a permanent solution to the Palestinian case is important to put an end to the repeated confrontations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, the presidential statement read. The president added that achieving peace and stability in the Palestinian territories would eliminate of one of the most important triggers which extremist groups take as pretext for their terrorist activities.

A long-term truce between Israel and Palestinian forces was announced by Egypt and welcomed by the warring parties on August 26, ending a 50 day war that has left over 2100 Palestinians killed. On the Israeli side sixty-four soldiers and six civilians were killed.
