CAIRO, July 2 (Aswat Masriya) A Banha court sentenced in absentia Abdallah Mursi, the son of Egypt's ousted President Mohamed Mursi, and his friend to one year in prison with labor on Wednesday, fining them 10,000 Egyptian pound each, for drug possession.

The defendants have the right to appeal the verdict before the Cassation Court.

Investigations have revealed that the ex-president's son was carrying drugs when he was arrested.
