A Cairo criminal court will hear on Sunday the case of former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly over graft charges worth EGP 181 million.
The Illicit Gains Authority referred Adly’s case to the court following investigations that revealed that his fortune did not match his income, indicating that he may have used his political influence for illegal gains.
The referral-order suggests that Adly's enormous wealth was made between 1961 and 2011 while he served as security chief then interior minister.
Meanwhile, a Giza court will hear today the cases of Alaa and Gamal Mubarak and seven former officials and aides to the toppled president over stock market manipulation, squandering public funds and harming the economy.
