CAIRO, July 25 (Aswat Masriya) - An Egyptian aid convoy en route to Gaza arrived in North Sinai's Rafah on Friday morning.

The People's Campaign to Support Gaza has organised an aid convoy carrying medical supplies to Gazans.

"The convoy reached Rafah and is awaiting the arrival of the Red Crescent Movement representative to receive it, which is expected to take place after Friday's noon prayer," said Khaled Ali, a campaign member and former presidential candidate, on Twitter.

The campaign was formed in 2000 with Palestine's Second Intifada and revived in the wake of the recent Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Egypt's military intelligence approved on Thursday the convoy's passage through Ismailia after army forces had earlier stopped it from passing through.

Israeli forces have killed more than 800 Palestinians and injured thousands in an ongoing Gaza offensive as Hamas targets Israeli territory with rockets launched from Gaza.
