CAIRO, Sept 5 (Aswat Masriya) - Fire fighters of the Civil Protection Authority extinguished seven electricity transformers after catching fire at Hadaek El-Ahram area in Giza on Friday.
The technicians had reported malfunction in one of the transformers Thursday morning, a security source told state-run MENA agency, confirming that it was repaired and functioning in the evening of the same day.
Crackling noise was heard from the transformer at around eight in the evening, the source said, adding that it caught fire at dawn, which spread to the six other transformers.
The technicians confirmed the fire was caused by technical problems. They were able to repair the six transformers, and restore power to the area of ??Hadaek Al-Ahram again.
