The Cairo Opera Ballet Company is currently rehearsing for Ballet Zorba performances scheduled for July, the Middle East News Agency reported Zaqaziqi as saying.

The Cairo Opera House will continue spreading its message and play its role in presenting all forms of art, Zaqaziqi said.

It will always be a beam for culture and arts in the Arab world, he added.

Minister of Culture Alaa Abdel Aziz had appointed Zaqaziqi in this position as a successor to Inas Abdel Dayem's role.

Zaqaziqi had said earlier that he accepted this position in order to preserve the opera house, adding that he has nothing but respect for his predecessor Inas Abdel Dayem.

"There are no feuds or hostilities between me and any of the workers or artists at the opera house," Zaqaziqi said.
