CAIRO, Jan 9 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's Interior Minister has said that the police and the army have made plans to secure the constitutional referendum scheduled for 14 and 15 January.
Egyptians will be casting their votes next week on the newly-drafted constitution finalised by a 50-member committee in December.
"We are fighting a battle against terrorism with faith and conviction, and we are ready to work around the clock," Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said in a statement.
The minister asserted that all violations will be firmly dealt with, the state-run Middle East News Agency reported.
He also reassured citizens that there will be full security during all poll phases.
