Egypt's National Council for Women has finished drafting a law to combat all forms of violence against women.

The council sent the draft to President Mohamed Mursi, Prime Minister Hisham Kandil and Minister of Justice Ahmed Seliman.

The council presented a first draft of the law months ago.

Following a series of discussions on the first draft, the council has received a number of suggestions which the council took into consideration while preparing the final draft.

Among the most important amendents included in the final draft is adding a specific definition to differentiate between sexual harassment and sexual assault in order to facilitate prosecution.
