CAIRO, Jul 28 (Aswat Masriya) - The death toll from a fire which broke out in a furniture factory in Qaliyubia, northeast of Cairo on Tuesday rose to 24, a medical source said.

The prosecution formed a committee to investigate the cause of the fire and is conducting an investigation involving the factory owners and several survivors. A security source said there is no suspicion of criminal intent. 

Those killed and injured in the fire were transferred to five different hospitals in Greater Cairo, the state news agency MENA cited Health Ministry spokesman as saying.
